City Challenge (Adventure Professional)
Background
City Challenge provides a platform to promote adventures focusing on experiential learning. By incorporating urban elements and adventure-based counseling services, City Challenge aims to boost the confidence, perseverance and resilience of youth. It also endeavours to help youth acquire communication and problem-solving skills, and construct a supportive network with others, in order to promote personal growth.
Development
With sponsorship from the Keswick Foundation, City Challenge (Adventure Professionals) was established in September 2005. The unit provides a series of training facilities for High / Low Level Events, Abseiling, Sport Climbing, Canoeing, etc.
Thanks to the generous donation of the Hongkong Land Limited, Youth Outreach (YO) launched a 5-year "Project Cool Teen" youth counselling program, starting from November 2020. The program targets at at-risk youth aged 15 or below, who have quitted school or about to quit school. By leveraging youth cultural platforms that youth love, the program aims to enhance school dropouts' learning interest and motivation, improve their problem-solving skills, and equip them with basic life skills.
